How to get involved
May 12th, 2020
OIL & GAS FIGHTING COVID-19
All of the event's profits will be donated to charities and NGOs that support the medical professionals combating Coronavirus in Argentina, and the groups most affected in the country.
Argentina is one of the key up-and-coming oil & gas players, possessing the fourth-largest technically recoverable reserves of shale oil globally at 27 billion barrels, and more than 350 bcm in gas deposits.

We understand that the recent Coronavirus outbreak is playing an increasingly significant role in our lives, with all of us taking personal and professional precautions, including suspending employee travel and implementing mandatory remote working policies.
Why is this a fully online event?
As such, we decided that the Argentina LNG & Shale event will be held completely online. Hosting a digital event will allow everyone to find out more about Argentina’s new opportunities, before attending the official 2nd Argentina Oil, Gas & Energy Summit.
Holding the Argentina LNG & Shale summit digitally provides our attendees with many benefits:
/ Networking with other attendees.
/ Submitting questions during presentations.
/ Handing out electronic business cards in real time.
/ Chatting with attendees about critical issues in real time.
/ Accessing expert polls.
At the same time, we ensure everyone’s safety during the COVID-19 outbreak, while providing:
/ More than 100 business leads.
/ New and exciting branding opportunities.

Argentina: An Oil & Gas Shale Giant

Argentina is home to one of the biggest shale formations on the planet, Vaca Muerta. Vaca Muerta is the main non-conventional hydrocarbon formation in Argentina, growing exponentially thanks to more than $4 billion in annual investment, and heavy IOC activity. The formation occupies an area of 36,000 km2, with resources estimated at 16 billion barrels of oil and 308 cubic feet of gas. The shale play is driving innovation through the commercial production of shale oil and gas, with many operators joining together to benefit from this massive opportunity.
Numerous exploration and production blocks have been given to key international companies, including: Chevron, Petrobras, Total, Petrogas, ExxonMobil, Shell, Wintershal, Pan American Energy and many more.
Discover the best partnership opportunities available for working with IOCs in Argentina and make the most out of the new investment opportunities in shale and gas.
Achieving LNG potential
Argentina is preparing to join the LNG exporters elite this year, capitalising on the increased production of Vaca Muerta, the rising demand for LNG and its prime geographical location. YPF is moving forward with building a $5 billion LNG export terminal while running tests on exporting commercial LNG cargo.
The country is investing in LNG to accommodate the rising output of Vaca Muerta, and in preparation of the new offshore activities in the South Atlantic where 11 IOCs were awarded with acreage last year.
In Argentina LNG & Shale we have placed a unique focus on the necessary export regulations and key learnings, in order to equip all attending IOCs and participating service providers for the next steps in Vaca Muerta's growth.
